Recycling and recovering value from our waste.
Digitizing our processes.
Developing electronic reporting.
Promoting double-sided printing.
Reducing our energy consumption through increasingly alternative practices.

NUMBER OF A4 SHEETS CONSUMED
Between 2023 and 2024, paper consumption in Switzerland increased by 16%, while consumption in France decreased by 37%. This decline is explained by the gradual digitization of processes and the continuation of remote working, which should continue to reduce printing in the coming years.

Waste Management

INDICATORS
Swiss :
Percentage of recycled paper: in 2024, approximately 32,500 sheets were recycled, demonstrating a strong commitment to recycling and a trend towards reducing the environmental footprint.

France :
Environmental benefits dashboard showing the impact of recycling 127 kg of paper, cardboard, Tetra Pak, and paper towels.

Paper and cardboard are recycled by being sorted manually and mechanically. The recovered fibers are used to make paper pulp and recycled paper that can be recycled up to seven times.

Fighting Pollution And The Greenhouse Effect

In 2024, travel-related emissions increased, primarily due to travel by our consultants (+50%), linked to an increase in our activities, and air travel (+16%). Conversely, travel by internal staff decreased significantly (-75%), thanks in particular to remote working. Rail emissions remained relatively low and stable.

Good practices to continue:
Continue in our practice of using video conferencing or telephone conferencing tools (Teams, etc.).
Raise employee awareness of eco-driving to reduce fuel consumption and promote carpooling.
Prioritize e-learning training whenever possible.
Reduce long-distance travel for our consultants whenever possible.
Develop teleworking options for our employees as much as possible.
Strengthen our internal culture of responsibility by raising awareness of sustainable development, ethics, and corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Favor cloud storage (secure cloud).
Prioritize the purchase of equipment that consumes less energy and resources.
Limit the charging time of portable devices.

Energy Consumption And Resources

: MONITORING OF ELECTRICITY CONSUMPTION

Regarding electricity, Switzerland’s consumption is expected to decrease by 7% in 2024 compared to 2023, indicating a positive start to the implementation of the action plan stemming from the 2023 carbon footprint assessment conducted at Headquarters, aimed at reducing our CO2 emissions. Water consumption in Switzerland remains stable between 2023 and 2024. As for France, electricity consumption is 26.5% lower than in 2023.

CARBON FOOTPRINT

IOTA Group uses a new platform implemented in July 2024 for the management of its business travel, which allows us to effectively measure our CO2 emissions.

Between July and December 2024, business travel made via the platform generated a total of 88131 tonnes of CO2.

In 2025, IOTA will integrate a Carbon Footprint assessment tool to internalize expertise in these areas within the Group’s QHSE department, resulting in a new carbon footprint assessment in France by the end of the year.
