Job Description

Job dimensions

  • The referred job family group includes all type of manned or unmanned works performed offshore, within the framework of the oil & gas industry activities. Comprising management, organization & preparation for construction and installation of new offshore oil & gas fields. Position is based in Maputo on a 28/28-day rotational basis.

Activities

  • Assisted by Vessel’s Offshore Manager, lead all operational activities mainly based on sub-sea interventions performed by ROV’s, including deck preparations, heavy lifting and vessel deployment.
  • Coordinate the different entities involved in the achievement of the sub-sea works. ie, Logistic, Marine, ROV, Survey, SPS technicians, as well as any other specialists required for specific intervention. Manage Company personnel onboard vessels, ensure team spirit, cohesion, and complete understanding of the role of everyone offshore. Liaise with Contractors with regards to the latter.
  • Organize planning MPSV in accordance with EPCI Team, Drilling Team, FOPS and others.
  • Liaise daily with the vessels’ Offshore Manager. Maintain records of progress and supply status information to planning coordinator.
  • Interface with all specific queries from Company specialists. Main matters of concern are Safety, QA, Survey, ROV, Marine and Subsea operations
  • Organize the logistics of the MPSV in coordination with the onshore base and the field logistical support.
  • Ensure that all operational activities undertaken comply with relevant Company directives and are in accordance with safety rules, safety memos and operational manuals
  • Ensure that the implementation of health, environment and safety policy is undertaken by all subcontractors on board the vessel
  • Guarantee good performance of the activities in compliance with the operational procedures and project documentation approved by Company
  • Control and approve installation and transportation procedures, task plans and lift plans in consultation with all involved
  • Manage Subcontractor for all relevant installation analysis, procedures and task plans and ensure compliance with CPY rules and specifications
  • Manage MWS scope of work (suitability surveys, documentation approval, issuance of certificates, etc.)
  • Prepare COMOPS / SIMOPS dossier in consultation with all parties involved.
  • Organize planning MPSV contracted personnel and liaise with all Logistics’ contractor company involved.
  • Check and pre-valid invoices relative to the contracted personnel on board MPSV.
  • Verify that the services performed by the contractors comply with the terms and conditions set out in the contracts.
  • Check and approve Company and contractors supplied equipment necessary for the execution of the works
  • Report anomalies, near misses, incident, dangerous occurrences and other information to the Safety Department.
  • Liaise with vessel owners for all contractual matters.
  • Liaise with vessel owners for all cost matters.
  • Check and pre-valid all invoices relative to the MPSV.

Qualifications

Education

  • Education: Mechanical or Civil Project Engineer graduate, or at least 8 years’ experience as Offshore Manager/Superintendent in a contractor Company validated by an approved supervisory scheme certificate.

Experience

  • Minimum 15-year experience in offshore construction and installation among them several years in a contractor company (engineering, offshore operation, offshore installation engineer, offshore supervision).
  • Experience in marine operations, Subsea works and vessel management preferably in a offshore supervisory position.
  • Experience in Logistic management.
  • Experience in project management and company site representative
